The main lecture series will take place in The AbSciCon 2002 Conference Tent, located in Moffett Field's historic Hangar One. Breakout sessions will be held in The Moffett Training and Conference Center (Building 3), located just across the street from Hangar One. Posters sessions will be held within the Hangar venue surrounding The Conference Tent.

Registration
Select the REGISTRATION link to review costs and to register for the Astrobiology Science Conference 2002. There is a 30 minute time limit to complete and submit your registration information so please have credit card number and your contact information ready. Please note that we have requested an alternative point of contact within your organization, so please have that contact information available as well. AbSciCon 2002 registration agent is Maritz-McGettigan Meetings Plus; their contact information is provided on the registration web pages.

Please note: Early Bird Registration Deadline is February 1, 2002.
The Conference will be held April 7-11, 2002. One registration form, including payment information, must be submitted per person.

General Registration
-Early Registration $350 USD (available on or before February 1, 2002)
-Standard Registration $400 USD (February 1 through April 5, 2002)
-On-site Registration $450 USD (after April 5, 2002)

Student or Primary/Secondary School Educator

NASA Civil Servant

Note: All NASA Civil Servants are required to register to obtain a Conference badge.

Foreign Nationals:
Because this meeting is being held on a government site, all meeting attendees must provide their country of citizenship on the registration page and Foreign National registrants are required to submit additional information pertaining to nationality, birth date and place, passport and visa.

Abstracts
Please submit abstracts electronically via this website no later than February 1, 2002. The Scientific Organizing Committee will supervise the selection of abstracts for presentation, and determine whether your abstract will be presented as either a poster or a talk. You will be notified of this decision by mid-March.

Note: If you are submitting a US government-funded abstract, you will need to fill out and submit a 1676 through your agency. Click on the ABSTRACT SUBMISSION link on the front page for more information regarding the submission and selection process. A copy of all abstracts will be distributed at the Conference as your choice of book or CD.

Poster Information
Area for each poster is 48"H x 46"W. One 4' x 8' piece of foam core set upon two easels is provided. Two posters will be displayed per each piece of foam core. We will provide pushpins to mount posters to the foamcore. Please carry your poster with you to the Conference as there are no shipping or receiving services available for this event. Plan to put up your poster during the Sunday evening reception or on Monday. If the number of posters exceeds available poster space, there will be a second shift for poster display. Poster exhibitors will receive e-mail notification.

Conference Badging
Your Conference badge will be available for pick-up at the Check-In Desk inside Hangar One. Please bring appropriate identification to receive your registration materials.

Special NASA Badging
Special NASA badges will not be required to attend the Conference. However, if you plan to visit someone inside the gate at NASA Ames Research Center, you will need a NASA visitor badge. Please make arrangements with that person ahead of time as meeting support staff will not be able to submit and process your badge request.

Guests
Guests must register as a Conference attendee.

Meals Included with Conference Registration
Assorted pastries, bagels and beverages will be provided at the meeting site each morning; afternoon beverages and a light snack will be served. Buffet lunch will include deli sandwiches, and vegetarian fare. Please join us for a welcome BBQ Sunday April 7th and an Evening Buffet Tuesday April 9th. Wednesday is sci fi night, featuring burrito bar and a movie. Refer to the agenda for scheduled social events and their location.

Conference Publication
The Conference publication will be distributed to attendees at the Check-In Desk. It will include the agenda, abstracts, maps, travel information, and local restaurant and recreation listings.

Connectivity
Connectivity will be available in The Moffett Training and Conference Center for participant use. In addition, several computers will be available for email and internet use in The Moffett Training and Conference Center.

Messages
During the meeting, messages can be received for attendees at the Moffett Training and Conference Center staff office at (650) 604-2926 or 2082. Faxes can be sent to the Moffett Training and Conference Center at (650) 604-1816.

-drive approximately 30 miles
